The Toxic NYC This Is Not A Phase Cream Sweatpants are lettered like an old athletic print. A heavy 1970s slab-serif “TOXIC” runs up the right thigh with “New York City” written across it in a fast brush script. On the left thigh sits a small, tilted stack of type that reads “This is not a phase”, with TOXIC, New York and Studio underneath it.

Everything is printed in one faded brick red with a worn, speckled finish, so the lettering looks like it has been through a few hundred washes already. On the cream base it reads warm and vintage rather than loud.

The color is a cream mineral wash: an off-white with a soft, slightly uneven tone from the garment wash, so each pair looks a little lived in. The fabric is a heavyweight 420 GSM (12.4 oz) cotton fleece, thick and warm. The cut is a relaxed straight leg with a curved seam down the front of each leg, an elastic waistband, two side seam pockets and one back patch pocket.
